Three things the season exposes.
Bellarine businesses run lean in winter and flat out in summer. IT breaks in the busy weeks.
Summer staff, still signed in
Casuals get logins in December. Nobody removes them in March.
One computer runs the counter
Bookings, the till and email all live on the front-desk computer. If it dies, so does the day.
Work email on a lost phone
A phone with the business inbox on it goes missing at the beach.
It breaks
in the busiest week.
Computers fail when they're working hardest, which here means January. With a plan in place, the fix is one call.
Looked after all year, ready for the rush.
Computers, Microsoft 365 and support in one schedule, with the quiet months used to get ahead.
Access that ends with the job
Starters set up before their first shift and removed after their last.
That machine watched closely
We monitor and patch it, and scope a backup for it.
Signed out from here
We sign it out of Microsoft 365 and remove the work email. Personal photos stay put.
Weekdays 9 to 5, outside Victorian public holidays, with urgent issues picked up within four business hours.

The questions we get.
Usually a monthly fee per user or device, with licences billed separately. Seasonal businesses should ask how summer staff are counted, since the headcount changes through the year.
Give each person their own login, never a shared one, and turn it off on their last day. With a shared login you can't tell who did what, or lock out one person without locking out everyone.
If the phone is enrolled in device management, such as Intune in Microsoft 365 Business Premium, the work data can be wiped remotely and personal photos and apps are left alone. Without it, change the password and sign the account out everywhere.
Ask the vendor. Cloud booking systems back up their own servers, but that doesn't always cover a mistake made on your side. Older systems sometimes keep everything on one office computer, which then needs its own backup.
Standard support is weekdays, 9 to 5. Weekend help needs to be arranged before the season.
No. We cover Geelong, the Surf Coast and Golden Plains.
Worth a look first.
